Upcoming Events

  • Plumpton College Contemporary Craft Show

This is a new show from the Sussex Guild, in the land and environmental college at the foot of the South Downs. It will run over the weekend of Saturday 20th-Sunday 21st June.

From the Sussex Guild website: “We’re very happy to announce our inaugural show at Plumpton College this summer, in the AgriFood Centre, a newly built state-of the-art conference venue… Sussex Guild members will be showing wonderful handmade ceramics, furniture, glass, jewellery, knitwear, silversmithing, textiles and woodwork. Meet the makers to discuss their signature techniques and design inspirations, to buy excellent handmade applied art, or to commission a bespoke piece of craft.

There’s ample free parking, and stunning views over the Sussex Weald in one direction and over the Sussex Downs in another. An on-site café uses locally sourced fresh produce, some of which comes from the Plumpton College estate.”

  • Eastbourne College Contemporary Craft Show

Another new show from the Sussex Guild, this time in the graceful seaside town of Eastbourne. It runs over the weekend of Saturday 17th - Sunday 18th October.

From the Sussex Guild website: “We’re delighted to be exhibiting at Eastbourne College, another new venue for the Guild this year. It’s a stone’s throw from Towner gallery, in this culturally rich coastal town.

Members will be showing wonderful examples of handmade ceramics, furniture, glass, jewellery, knitwear, metalsmithing, textiles and woodwork. Work will be on display throughout the sports hall in the impressive Winn Building.

An inviting college café will be serving refreshments throughout the weekend, and there are plenty of cafés within the nearby Devonshire Quarter, Eastbourne’s cultural centre, as well as the seafront promenade.

Assistance dogs only are permitted. There is a short flight of stairs to the venue. A lift is available for those with mobility issues.”

See the website for details of opening times, parking and rail travel.

  • Midhurst Contemporary Craft Show

Running over the weekend of Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th of December, this is the Sussex Guild’s biggest and best-loved show, ideally scheduled for pre-Christmas shopping. It is held in the spacious Midhurst Rother College, which has abundant parking. I will add more details as they become available.
